The McFarland Chamber of Commerce will held its Annual Meeting on Thursday, February 6th at the Maple Tree Restaurant in McFarland.
The first annual MCOC (McFarland Chamber of Commerce) Annual Dinner & Auction took place January 23, 2006 at the former Angelo’s Restaurant on Farwell Street in McFarland. The evening included a social, chamber recap of 2005 and preview of 2006, a sit down dinner, and a “live” auction with Guest Auctioneer Scott Brown. The meeting portion of the evening included introducing and acknowledging the volunteer service of members of the Board of Directors for the McFarland Chamber of Commerce, as well as other key volunteers for chamber events. This new format was well-received and attendance grew from 33 in 2005, to an average attendance of 53-59 for 2006 through 2010; before jumping to 66 in 2011.
Currently, the annual meeting continues to be planned as the MCOC Annual meeting, rotating locations among chamber member restaurants able to host attendance of 60+ for dinner. The event has become a well-attended, social and networking opportunity, with the auction serving as a necessary fundraiser for the chamber, in-part allowing dues increases to remain moderate.
